Kangana Ranaut expanded her career by
stepping into the director’s shoes with the 2019 film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Initially known for her bold and powerful roles on screen, this transition to directing marked a significant evolution in her journey in the film industry.
Her directorial debut, co-directed with Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, brought forth the story of Rani Lakshmi Bai, a historic figure known for her bravery and leadership during India’s first war of independence.
